Ravyn Njagu, MD

For Dr. Njagu, the OBGYN specialty allows the unique opportunity to be present in a patient’s life throughout their journey.

“It provides the opportunity to be present in a patient’s life during their most vulnerable, joyful, and sometimes frightening moments, and this inspired me to pursue this specialty. Whether it’s guiding someone through the anticipation of new life, providing support during difficult times, or navigating life changes, being an OBGYN allows me to form profound connections and make a lasting impact,” she said. “Each day presents new challenges and rewards, and I am honored to walk alongside my patients on their unique journeys.”

Originally from Graham, NC, Dr. Njagu earned a bachelor’s degree from N.C. State University and graduated from Duke University Medical School, and also completed her residency at Duke University. She is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She is a first-generation physician, and her family is from Zimbabwe.

Dr. Njagu also found her inspiration from her mother, who was dedicated to recruiting underserved populations into medicine.

“Watching her tirelessly advocate for those often overlooked, I learned the importance of compassion and accessibility in healthcare. Her commitment to making a difference ignited my passion for medicine and guided me toward my own path in this field,” Dr. Njagu said.

In her free time, Dr. Njagu enjoys attending concerts, traveling and dancing.

“One of the most rewarding aspects of my career has been the opportunity to form lasting connections with both my patients and colleagues. Each relationship I build deepens my understanding of the human experience and enhances the care I provide,” Dr. Njagu said.
